Kune Kune Pigs

Kune kune is a small wonderful pig, pronounced “Cooney Cooney”, meaning fat and round. A hugely friendly pig but small in stature.

Originally from New Zealand the breed is a natural grazer and loves nothing better than a free range life to root around in grass. Harris Farm Kune Kunes enjoy orchard apples and pears and a traditional diet.

Harris Farm Meats Kune Kunes are free range and have paddocks with woodland to live a natural and instinctive life and grass to forage.

Our Kune Kune are ethically reared and mature in weight slowly as nature intended, this helps to produce a premium meat.

The meat is different from other pork and is slightly darker in colour, it has a taste some say similar to beef and wild boar and the fat is sweet and creamy it’s unique and absolutely delicious. Kune Kune bacon is very much sought after and is traditionally dry cured as is our artisan Kune Kune Roasts.
